A Memorial & Celebration - Updated

UPDATED
Saturday, July 12, 2008, 7pm
Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center
Please check the blog frequently for possible updates.

Update (7/9):

1) Car pools are encouraged to keep parking requirements to a minimum. Additionally, there is a Park-n-Ride just west of I-83 on Middletown Road. It is easy to meet and carpool over from there.

2) Seating for 200 will be provided, and indications are that attendance will exceed this number. People may consider bringing folding/camp chairs.

I will post instructions for donations in lieu of flowers... I just have not gotten around to that yet. Thanks for your patience.

Memorial will be followed by refreshments and Andy Nelson's World Famous BBQ

We're doing our level best to estimate the number of people...we sincerely hope that you all get to eat! (If not, thanks for your understanding)

What To Wear
Please note that Sandy's wish was for people to dress in what she liked to call "Summer Brights." No dark suits and ties...

Guys: comfortable shorts or slacks are fine, colored shirts are great
Gals: Sandy referred to "Lilly"as the example during these conversations-- wear your favorite bright and festives, with fun colors.

Will, Hannah and Haley,
Sorry we can't make it for the memorial. You are in our thoughts and prayers constantly. Glad that Denny and Carol can be there for the Draegers. It sounds like it will be a special evening for all.

Will, Hannah, Haley and family:

As you know, we are out state on vacation on Carova Beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Although we will not be physically present to celebrate Sandy’s life, rest assured that we will be on the beach at 7PM this evening with margaritas in hand to toast Sandy.

Will, as we spoke, this seemed the most fitting for us to do to honor and remember her is a manner and style most fitting her approach to life.

Please know that the Bleser family is with you this evening, and always, as you and the legion of friends and family celebrate her memorial service at Genesee Valley.

Love,

Richard, Lee, Will, Mac, Judd & Lily

Will, Hannah, and Haley,

I was saddened to hear of your loss (our loss). We were out of town at Cape Cod, and were out of the loop. We just learned of the Memorial Service (held last night) this afternoon.

Please know that you are all in our family's prayers and thoughts.

McEldowneys and Hicklins

So sorry I was unable to make the Memorial Service for Sandy. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you in the loss of your daughter, wife, mom and sister. I'll aways remember Sandy's smile, her love of life, how she loved her family and our times together at Manheim Township HS and Hollins!

Fondly,

Susan (Smith) Ketchum
